Last night someone reminded me of the great "Marian the Librarian" story in Nicholson Baker's classic The Fermata. In case you don't have a copy on your bookshelf, it's available through Google Books. Start reading on page 127. I don't know how I could've forgotten the "Fuck me with your truck!" line.
